“Mommy, Mommy take my picture!”
yells Boo at the top of his lungs.
*I turn around and come face to
face with a chicken.*
My dear sweet boy was all dressed up like a fancy little
chicken and was beaming with satisfaction as he came running into my bedroom.
Laughter filled the silent room and my heart was warmed as he pleaded with me
to take his picture. I often ask myself what I did to deserve such blessings in
my life.
A year ago we suffered a great many losses. We had our
second miscarriage, lost everything we owned in a house fire, Lover had two
complete hip replacements and he lost his job just weeks before Christmas.
After 9 long months God finally opened the door for us to have our own home
again.
I remember staying awake so many nights crying out to God
wondering if he was even listening to me. I had to continuously remind myself
that God loved us and desired nothing but good things for our lives. Sometimes
being a Christian is NOT an easy task. There are times when we too have to walk
thru the fire and learn to live by faith. It’s in those times we have learned
who we could confide in and trust and we also learned who we could not rely on
during those dark hours. One thing remained I had to trust, I had to believe,
and I had to persevere. I knew God had our backs.
God never promised that our lives would be easy or that we
wouldn’t be faced with hard times. I am learning that it’s in those dark times
where we really can seek God’s face. Learning to trust that He will turn our
sorrows into dancing and our mourning into joy is a daily process. I am just
thankful for those heartfelt moments in time where I am gently reminded of all
the blessings I have in my life.
I thank God that He has been teaching me to capture those
moments, to make those memories and to never take time for granted. I love my
life even in the midst of all the hard times. I am grateful and thankful that God
trusts me enough to walk the life He has placed before me. My prayer for you is
that you too can learn to lean and trust in Him even in your darkest hours. He
loves you!
Romans 8:28: "We know that ALL things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose."
